G1 "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied" (v. 19): Why do you think Paul emphasizes the importance of resurrection hope beyond this life? How might this affect the way we live today?

G2 "But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep" (v. 20): What does it mean that Christ is the "firstfruits"? How does this metaphor help us understand what our future resurrection will be like?
